MOSS Raises Money for Added Security at Westglades Middle School

Westglades Middle School now has extra security, thanks to School PTO and Parkland parent Lori Alhadeff. Lori’s non-profit organization Make Our Schools Safe teamed up with Westglades Parent-Teacher Group to raise money for ballistic glass and added fencing to create a stronger single point of entry.

“It’s a huge community effort that they can be a part of the healing process. With us being able to put money into our schools actually creates a sense of feeling safer,” says Lori.

An artwork that will be on display at Westglades Middle School was also revealed, showing those in the community that donated toward the security upgrades. Lori hopes to bring those same upgrades to other schools in Broward County as well.
